| Dear NAEA Member, (Request by Woody Duncan – RAEA President Elect) At the annual NAEA National Convention in New York City, New York on March 2 - 4, 2017, Retired Art Educators, RAEA, will again have our Silent Art Auction of original art works made and donated by our RAEA and NAEA members. The auction will take place on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 7–9 p.m. at the Artisans Gallery in the Hilton Mercury Ballroom at the Hilton New York Hotel. I am writing to you requesting donations of your original artwork to our Silent Auction fund-raiser. This is another opportunity for you to showcase your original artwork and to help a worthy cause! As you may know, RAEA receives no funding from NAEA so this, our only fund-raiser, is essential to the continuance of our organization and its endeavors. All proceeds support the RAEA Awards Program. Many of you have donated in the past. I thank you and hope you will donate again this year and in the future. Please keep in mind that NAEA has scheduled the RAEA Silent Auction at the Artisans Gallery in the Hilton Mercury Ballroom for the evening of Thursday, March 2. If you are attending the New York Convention and are bringing donation(s) and the required paperwork with you, contact me on your arrival. You may reach me at my cell phone number that is listed below. Your work may also be turned in at the RAEA Table in the NAEA Registration Area BEFORE 3:00 pm March 2, 2017. If you are not attending the convention or are not arriving in time on March 2, the donation(s) need to be shipped to Rick Lasher at the address below. He will be available to receive these donations to arrive before Saturday, February 25, 2017. Each donation must be accompanied by: • Two (2) completed copies of the RAEA Silent Art Auction form. Fill in the information about the artist and the artwork in the left column and please be sure to provide a minimum bid keeping in mind that this is a fundraiser and price accordingly. Completing these forms ahead of time is a must, as we will have no ‘lead’ time to fill out and/or duplicate the paperwork at the convention.
