New Toy (12/19):
Christmas
came early this year - yesterday, I set up my new 27 inch iMac - I'm
transfering files and photos now - the new macs don't have a slot for
CD's so I'm using bluetooth file sharing - another learning curve to
tackle - the only difference between men and boys is the price of their
toys.

Beautiful Blossom (12/18):
I
picked Blossom up from her week at her "Doggy Bed & Breakfast". The
groomer did a great job this time but had to trim Blossom's ears making
her look funny. My bride refused to share any of our Polish Sausage
with Blossom - poor puppy !!! I did give her a Christmas Doggy Toy
early.

Western Fed (12/12):
Delightful news - Yesterday, I found out that I was
one of the eleven New Mexico artists selected to have a painting in the
Western Federation of Watercolor Societies 39th annual exhibition in
Arizona (WFWS 39). The juror, Cheng-Khee Chee selected my watercolor of
John McEuan. McEuan is one of the founding members of the Nitty Gritty
Dirt Band.
The WFWS 39 exhibition is hosted my AWA, the Arizona Watercolor
Association and runs April 1st – April 30th, 2014 in the Fountain
Hills Community Center - Fountain Hills, Arizona. This juried
watercolor show is hosted by a different member society each year. The
only other WFWS I had a painting selected for was in 2007 when the
exhibition was in Colorado.

Watercolor Party (12/8):
My bride and I just got back from the Watercolor Society
Holiday Party. Frani made a great cheesecake and I came home with a
great portrait of Obama. All is well for this old Democrat. The portrait of Obama was painted by Bob Gutchen.

Sandia Sunset (12/06):
I
got home just in time yesterday to shoot a photo of our mountain at
sunset. The Sandia is East of us so the mountain catches the rays of
warm light of the setting sun.

Snow Today (12/05):
I
woke up to a dusting of snow this morning. Even my bride got up to look
at the snow before crawling back under the covers. It's only 35 degrees
out there so this bit of white won't last long. Colder weather is
predicted tomorrow - so, my roses won't hang on much longer. Other
parts of the country is getting lots of snow. I'll keep an eye on the
road conditions since we plan to drive to Kansas City soon.

My December Roses (12/03):
I'm
continually amazed at how long my roses have hung on this year. We even
had a few days below freezing and my roses are still beautiful. Below
are photos I took yesterday - December 2nd. I'll have plenty of photos
to use as resources to paint from this winter.

Taos Watercolor Workshop (12/02):
Today,
I mailed off my registration for the Adams State workshop in Taos, New
Mexico. I've been attending this workshop since 1985. My painting
skills improve each year, I enjoy getting together with old friends and
learning from them. Yet, my bride is sure I only go for the food. Ken
and Louise Blair always treat us like royalty. Think about joining us
in beautiful Taos next June. For more information click on the images

Roses in December (12/01):
On
the first day of December, it's a nice surprise to look out the window
and see my roses hanging on. Yesterday, I took a photo of a hot air
balloon floating past. The balloons colors nicely complemented
the colors of my roses.
