| August 19 - Santa Fe Indian Market: We spent a delightful day in Santa Fe exploring this years Indian Market. We admired all the beautiful creations that are way out of our price range. In one shop, I tried in vain to convince my bride to buy a beatiful shawl - with no luck. The annual Indian Market is something everyone should experience. I only got to see one after I retired.    ... |

| August 5 - Retired Art Teachers: NAEA in Boston I hope all retired art teachers are planning to attend the 2018 NAEA National Convention in Boston, MA (March 14-16). Check the NAEA website closely https://www.arteducators.org and register as early as possible. Registering early is important so you can sign up for workshops and tours of your choice. You don't want to miss any of the great opportunities at NAEA in Boston – so sign up early. Retired Art Educators are an important part of NAEA and many of us continue to attend NAEA Conventions year after year. Be sure to plan ahead - after Boston, Minneapolis in 2020, Chicago in 2021 and then back to New York, City in 2022. 2018 RAEA Silent Auction The Retired Art Educators hold a silent auction at each NAEA Convention. The money raised allows RAEA to fund awards for the "Outstanding NAEA Student Chapter" and for the "National Emeritus Art Educator". Any NAEA member may donate items for the auction. Please consider donating an item of your original art for the auction in Boston. The RAEA Silent Auction will be held during the Artisan's Gallery on Thursday, March 14th, 7 to 9 pm.
