December 30 - Keep Painting:
I'm

my newest watercolor of "Dorise". Now, I need to get back to working on

December 29 - Life On The Street:
I'm starting a new composition - it's a challenging one - but the
subject matter is fantastic - I thought it best to leave the cluttered
background empty. The format is very horizontal - should end up about
17 x 26 inches before it's matted.

subjects to paint. Some, I've painted before - but, perhaps I can do a
better job now. Tanya & Dorise play beautiful music on Royal Street
in New Orleans. These two ladies make wonderful subjects for my
watercolors.

December 22 - Shadows Are Fun:
Searching
through old photos I discovered this one from Cartagena, Spain from a

This
morning, I finished my newest version of "Mud Artist". This time I
zoomed in a bit closer to the figure which cut off much of his shadow.

December 4 - Prior To Painting:
I've
started a new drawing of an old subject. I've done a successful
painting of this worker applying a coat of adobe on the arch in Taos
before. I'll try to do it justice again. Prior to any painting on "Mud
Artist" I've protected the whites and lightest areas with "pebeo"
drawing gum. For the texture of the adobe wall I've applied "Golden"
light molding paste. When everything dries I'll be ready to paint.
