January 29 - Another ZOOM Day:
Today
is another ZOOM day with my friends - it's good to see and talk with
everyone and find out what they are painting this week. This pandemic
may be with us for quite a while - so we have lots of time to paint.
There is only one more day for artists to enter MasterWorks - so, as
file-master, I spend part of my time collecting the entries. The
deadline is 5:00 PM on Saturday.

friends think of it in critique tomorrow. I used masking tape to block
out the whites. Please let me know if the shadows are dark enough.

January 26 - Slow Progress:
Slow
progress on my "Palermo Laundry" in the end it should be worth it. I
also shot a photo of our mountain from an upstairs window. There was a
bit of snow in the yard - but, it's gone now. It looks best on our
mountain where it belongs.

January 18 - Painting Finished:
I
finished with my "French Quarter Princess" this morning - I painted
her/him before - several years ago. This version in 21 x 16 inches -
matted, it will fit a 28 x 22 inch frame. It's on 300 lb Arches Rough.
I took the source photo several years back in New Orleans.

January 17 - Expression:
I
believe I'm finished with my newest watercolor "Expression" - the horn
player is from the French Quarter in New Orleans - he is caught in the
bright sunlight. I was attracted by the twisted expression on his face
as he paused a moment to applaud some fellow street musicians. It is 17
x 14 inches, on 300 lb Arches Rough.

January 12 - Restful Day:
We
should all be this comfortable - Blossom resting in her beanbag bed. I
did get out of the house this morning - I had the oil changed and tires
rotated in the Chevy. It's been a whole year since the last oil change
- but then we seldom drive with the Pandemic. On the way home I put
momey in the bank, picked up my drugs and got bread at the used bread
store.

January 11 - Netflix:
I've
been passing the days and hours of late watching Stargate SG-1 on
Netflix. I never followed it before - so much of it is new to me. The
United States government learns that an ancient alien device called the
Stargate can access a network of such devices on a multitude of planets
and in space. SG-1 is an elite United States Air Force special
operations team, one of about 20 teams from Earth who explore the
galaxy and defend against alien threats such as the Goa'uld, the
Replicators and the Ori. The series draws upon Egyptian mythology,
Greek mythology, Norse mythology and Arthurian legend. Netflix has the
first nine seasons - I'm just into season eight - I should have about
45 more episodes to go yet. It does seem strange that everyone in the
universe speaks english - but hey it's just a story.
