April 28 - Signs Of Spring: It's a sure sign of spring when my roses start to bloom and Blossom gets a trim for summer. |
April 24 - Space To Work: I'm finally getting my Studio/Work Space organized - I still have lots of stuff to go through and throw away. |
April 15 - Portrait Finished: This morning, I finished my portrait of "Tess" my grand daughter - of course her grandmother is not happy with the painting, I can do better - and I'll try. ...
April 9 - Finished Watercolor: I finished one watercolor this morning - It's of a young man playing his Guitar in Malaga. That was one of our ports on cruise a few years back. |
April 8 - David Drummond Demo: David Drummond did a fantastic watercolor demo for the NMWS at MasterWorks today |
April 6 - Blast From the Past: As I was cleaning out my studio - I found this. I guess it was around 1980 - Kaw Valley Arts had a great exhibit space in the Brotherhood Building in Kansas City, Kansas. It must have been in the local newspaper. Must have been 1985 or 86 - I was in exhibitions at the gallery those years. |

April 5 - Life Is Good: Our Jayhawks brought their fourth NCAA title back to Allen Fieldhouse on Monday thanks to a second-half flurry that erased a 16-point deficit and eventually overcame North Carolina 72-69 in an epic battle of power programs. It was the largest comeback in national championship history, surpassing the 1963 title game when Loyola overcame a 15-point deficit to beat Cincinnati at the buzzer, 60-58.“Tonight we obviously labored in the first half,”said KU coach Bill Self, who won his second championship.“But the kids competed.”David McCormack scored the go ahead bucket from close range with 1:21 left, then another at the 22-second mark to put Kansas ahead by three.“When we had to have a basket, we went to Big Dave, and he delivered,” Self said. His Jayhawks were the only No. 1 seed to make it to New Orleans. McCormack and Jalen Wilson led KU with 15 points each. Christian Braun scored 10 of his 12 in the second half. |

April 4 - Big Game Tonight: I'm headed to the bar "Horse & Angels" for the game at 7:00 tonight. We are looking for a good turnout - perhaps as good or better than Saturday. |
April 3 - Rock Chalk Jayhawks: Ochai Agbaji followed a celebrating stream of Kansas players off the floor at the Final Four, their shouts of One more!”echoing all the way up the tunnel of the Superdome and right to the door of their locker room. One more game awaits, the biggest of their careers. The Jayhawks earned a trip back to the national championship Saturday night with a shooting performance that will go down in history. David McCormack muscled his way for 25 points, Agbaji hit six 3-pointers and had 21 points, and the only No. 1 seed to reach the national semifinals rolled to an 81-65 victory over Villanova before a huge crowd that packed the home of the New Orleans Saints one year after the pandemic kept just about everyone away.“That's everyone's attitude — even after this game, even after last weekend, the weekend before that — everyone's attitude was on to the next one,” Agbaji said,“and not looking too far ahead at what's going on Monday.”It will be a blueblood clash in the championship game. The Jayhawks will face North Carolina after the Tar Heels ousted Duke, sending retiring coach Mike Krzyzewski home. North Carolina has made more trips to the Final Four than anyone.“You come to Kansas for big games,”said Christian Braun, who also had 10 points Saturday night,“but you don't come to Kansas to play in the Elite Eight. You don't come to Kansas to play in the Final Four. You come to play for a championship.”The Jayhawks (33-6) hope a familiar pattern holds on Monday. |

April 2 - Great Demo: A big Thank You to my friend Sandra Humphries for doing a fantastic demo for the New Mexico Watercolor Society. She has an ability to capture the beauty of this beautiful land we are blessed to live in. |
April 1 - Sitting MasterWorks: Today was my turn to sit the MasterWorks of New Mexico. I have one watercolor in this years exhibition. A Jayhawk Alumni friend and his wife came to see the exhibition. I had just recently heard that my portrait of Ochai Agbaji arrived at his parents house in Kansas City. They plan to have it framed. |
