June 22 - Mayer of Munich: I got an education this morning at the orientation meeting at the new library in Albuquerque's International District. Erica Behrens, from Mayer of Munich, was there to meet the five artists selected to compete for the Art Installation at the library. I learned so much more about Mayer of Munich's installations around the world. Now I plan to include many of those places on our future trips - we we start traveling again. On my photo - #1 is at Cafe du Parc in Arles, France #2 is a Mayer studio in Munich, Germany #3 is the Library in Lenexa, Kansas and #4 is Nick Cave's art in a New York Subway. I also learned that the Chuck Close tile murals we saw in New York were done by a different company - not by Mayer Munich - my education continues. |

June 18 - Changes: I got the ladders out today and made a few changes. I hung the "Metal Butterflies" on the wall. Then I hung my watercolor of "Holy Mudder" over the fireplace. I have a healthy fear of heights - but I climbed the ladders anyway. Our beautiful grand daughter says we have a lot of crap - but, we love our stuff. |

June 15 - Debris Left On Mars: NASA's Ingenuity Mars Helicopter recently surveyed both the parachute that helped the agency's Perseverance rover land on Mars and the cone-shaped backshell that protected the rover in deep space and during its fiery descent toward the Martian surface on Feb. 18, 2021. Do we have plans to clean up this mess we are leaving on Mars - or are we goinge to fence off sites like this for future tourist to visit on vacation ? Perhaps we could gather it all up it one location so artists could use it for sculptures for museums on the Red Planet. |

June 15 - Step Up Gallery Art Market: Watercolors of the High Desert - The Work of Signature Artists of the Watercolor Society of New Mexico will be on display at the Mesa Public Library in Los Alamos, New Mexico from June 30 until July 27. You are welcome to attend the opening reception July 9th from 2:30 to 4:00 pm. |

June 14 - Watercolor NOW: This morning, I selected my watercolor "Brother's Advice" for the 2022 Watercolor NOW exhibit. This is not a juried show - it's by invitation only for members of the Watercolor Honor Society. I've been in Watercolor USA a few times - that's how I got into the Watercolor Honor Society. This years exhibition is at the Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. |

||||
June 2 - Why Taos Every June: I'm almost packed and ready to drive to Taos. This will me the 35th time at the watercolor workshop at the Sagebrush Inn. My first time was driving 800 miles from Kansas City in 1985. Now it's only 134 miles from our home in Albuquerque. |
