Melbourne, Australia:
Our world cruise continues - to an added port of Melbourne. We decided to take excursions outside of Melbourne - a long bus ride to visit an old gold mining town and then to a wildlife reserve. The best part was getting to feed the Kangeroos.

Sydney Harbor:
On our last cruise we spent 3 days in Sydney before flying back to the states. In Sydney, you can walk right off the ship and be in downtown. We decided to revisit some favorite spots - especially the Jananese Garden.

After Sydney:
Both of us began to feel ill - so, we went to see the ships doctor. Of course the tested us for flu and covid - but, it seems that we had worn masks for the last two years meant we had not built up an imunity to the COMMON COLD. So, we went to bed - my bride took the drugs they perscribed and I started drinking "Hot Toddy's". We finally got better but decided not to go ashore at the next two ports -- Moreton Island and Airlie Beach.

Cairns, Australia:
We recovered so we could enjoy a long day in Cairns. We had planned for an aerial tram ride over the rain forests - followed by a train ride back down the mountain. It was fantastic - better than what we had planned.

Darwin, Australia:
It's 4 sea days from Cairns to Darwin - but we are told that another storm means we will skip Darwin and continue on to Komodo Island. So we will have five relaxing sea days before we reach Komodo Island.

Komodo Island:
My bride has been looking forward to Komodo Island so she can see these creatures. It's a shallow port so we had to take a shuttle to the dock. To see the dragons requires a long walk through a thick "sweaty" jungle. But it was worth the effort. We found out that when the babies are born - they hide high in the trees so they won't be eaten by other dragons. We did bring home a carved wooden dragon for our house.

Singapore:
A totally modern city - and the cleanest city I've ever seen. We visited an orchid garden, had lunch with a view of the city and toured a hugh Aquarium. We also stopped in China Town but the visit was way too short to do any serious shopping.

...

Malaysia:
After Singapore we headed to Malaysia - we had plans for Langkawi  - but there was a labor dispute there so our ship went to Penang instead. We decided to go see how they created batis - so we went to a Batik Factory. My bride bought a beautiful table cloth. I wanted a shirt - but, they did not have my size. Later we toured a Buterfly Garden.

...

Sri Lanka - 66 th Day of Our Cruise:
Our next port was Colombo, Sri Lanka. I was looking forward to visiting a Buddist Temple and I was not disappointed. The art work inside the temple was fantastic. I came home with photos of dancers for future watercolors.

...

Lazy Sea Days:
Those days between ports are relaxing days - time to catch up on laundry - but there are lots of activities. The ship has live stage shows almost every night. But my bride and I prefer to take in live music in one of the bars on borad. During the day - my bride keeps busy on her cross stitch or we play several rounds of Triominos - We take the game on every cruise. Of course you can get a drink, visit with friends or find something to eat - food is what crusing is all about.
